PETI TRANSFIELD - John Fouhy
I am a teacher at Church College of New Zealand, Hanilton and because we have been given notice that the college is closing, I have been given the assignment of writing its history. During my research on our sporting history, one of our basketball coaches from the 70's handed me a letter written by John Fouhy who was captain of the Wellington St Pat's A1 Basketball team in 1971. The letter is a wonderful statement about the sportsmanship of that time and I would like to publish it as part of the sports chapter. The letter captures the sportsman-like qualities of schoolboy contacts of that time. I would like any background information about John Fouhy to include as a reference for the letter. His present work situation would be enough. I would like to contact him as he may like a copy of the letter if he did not keep a copy. He has good things to say about Church College but it also says a lot about the sort of outstanding young man John was. If John is one of your family members, the letter will be of interest to you as well. If you could help me in this regard, I would appreciate that. Kind regards, Peti Transfield

DAVE WHYLIE - BILL FOUHY IN TAUMARANUI
MARK FOUHY - ST PATTY'S DAY
cheers to all on this cold snow eve to the holiday... I love this site and hope to get better at the various options.. My grandfather John Fouhy and my dad Bernard"Red" Fouhy used to bring up a topic about the Boston police (cops) the ones that did the "beat walk", that is they walked the neighborhood beat and for some reasons were called "fouhy's" or phooeys or some form of this .. I have never been able to find out the history on this and maybe the Boston Police Historical Assoc. may have some input. I hope someone out there may read this and get back to me.. All is well on Cape Cod Massachusetts!!!! Great Job Chris!!!
